rgm-about

Ryan Graves is a newly fashioned singer/songwriter/guitar-student who found his songwriting therapy via a surfing injury in 2019. Stuck in the paradise of the north shore of Kauai unable to get his ocean fix, a guitar and songwriting supported his recovery both physically and emotionally. After a successful career as the first CEO and longtime executive credited for building Uber’s operations internationally Ryan’s songs wreak off a desire to get back to the basics. Family, nature, good times, with good friends, and a celebration of the simplicity of a life well lived.

Based on Kauai, and with time spent in the mountains of Woody Creek, Colorado, Ryan’s music is a refreshing hybrid of alt-country, blue grass, and a beachy Jack Johnson acoustic “chuck”.

The songs on Graves first EP release, “Passport to Something New,” coming in early 2024, are inspired by experiences that we all face; adulting, paying taxes, parenting, 90’s nostalgia, and a celebration of the shared process of life, all while struggling to define what will tomorrow hold and the lurking and haunting question… why?

Graves’ art is defined by the work ethic that drove his business career, a progress orientation that promises growth, many future projects, and an insatiable curiosity of what sounds and what absolute truths can be shared and explored alongside the royal you, we, the listener.
